Connecticut Officials Concerned About ALB Outbreaks

An infestation of Asian longhorned beetles detected in Worchester MA in August has Connecticut officials scrambling to shift their detection programs and public education efforts away from port cities in the South to include the Northern border of the state. The Journal Inquirer reported today on these efforts, including a push to warn purchasers of firewood, training for town tree wardens, and etymological inspections to begin after leaf drop.
